THE PREMIERE FESTIVAL BYDGOSZCZ 2011

The Premiere Festival is a competitive presentation of repertoire theatres' premieres, in which take part the best and most commented premiere performances of the previous season. This year's edition of the Festival is planned from the 1st to the 9th October. This year, among other performances, the following have been invited to the Festival: Tadeusz Słobodziank's Nasza Klasa (Our Class) dir. by Ondrej Spišák from Teatr na Woli, Paweł Demirski's Tęczowa Trybuna (The Rainbow Tribune) dir. by Monika Strzępka from Teatr Polski in Wrocław, Poczekalnia.0 (The Waiting Room.0) directed by Krystian Lupa from Teatr Polski Wrocław and Sieroty (The Orphans) directed by Grażyna Kania from Teatr Powszechny Warsaw.

Furthermore, during the Premiere Festival meetings with directors will take place, as well as with theatre artistic directors, theatre experts and critics, to whom the Festival is an important forum for exchanging ideas, for discussing contemporary theatre and dramaturgy, and an opportunity to follow current tendencies and problems taken up by theatre.

The International Annexe to the Premiere Festival will be held for the fourth time, and this year, from the 14th to the 16th October. During the Annexe, premiere performances will be presented, as well as artistic drives, which intend to have an impact both on the artistic and the civic level through motivation of citizens and different social groups.

Especially for the occasion, Teatr Polski is preparing the performance Sunday, Bloody Sunday, directed by Łukasz Gajdzis, in which a group of Bydgoszcz citizens will participate. This shall aim to examine different formulas and aesthetics of civil theatre, which in cooperation with the citizens, wants to influence the social sphere. The event will be accompanied by meetings with authors.

The complete repertoire of this year's Premiere Festival and the Annexe will be published on the TPB's websites: www.teatrpolski.pl and www.prapremiery.pl
